TITLE: eLearning Project Manager

LOCATION: Columbia, MD or Pensacola, FL

A P Ventures (APV) Background: Since its inception in 2007, APV brings a broad array of capabilities to Government agencies – from IT services; Training, Education, and Outreach; and Human Capital solutions. Our talented team of developers, Project/Program Managers, multimedia and designers have delivered to over 70 plus prime contracts with exceptional CPARS, earning client kudos. In order to maintain the CMMI Development Level-3 certifications standards and ISO 9001 Standards we are seeking a Process Quality manager to oversee the quality management systems for 25 plus active contracts that APV works on.

The PM is responsible for overseeing the project from initiation to closure. PM will manage activities to ensure project is on schedule, meets all quality standards, and fulfills the project requirements. PM works closely with team and client to identify project requirements and priorities and track progress. PM plays a significant role in building a strong client relationship and fostering team success.

Task and Duties

  • Plan and manage team activities
  • Define project scope, goals, deliverables, tasks and required resources
  • Track deliverables and maintain RTM
  • Maintain stakeholder engagement/build client relationships
  • Lead team meetings and 1-1 meetings with team members
  • Identify and manage risks
  • Estimate and track resource hours
  • Supervise and support team
  • Ensure quality of products and services
  • Project monitoring and control: Review team progress, document status and gather and analyze project metrics
  • Follow CMMI processes and ensure team follows correct processes
  • Focus on continual improvement in team performance
  • Implement and manage change as needed
  • Evaluate and assess project outcomes
  • Regular reporting to senior management and client

Required Skills

  • At least One Year of Project Management Experience
  • Create and maintain a production schedule
  • Project management tools such as Excel, MS Project, Mantis, and Basecamp
  • Project management techniques such as GANTT charts, WBS, project estimation (PERT)
  • Strong communication skills
  • Critical thinking and problem solving
  • Conflict resolution
  • Strong team building skills
  • Knowledge of best practices in instructional design
  • CMMI Level 3 processes
  • Some travel may be required
  • Close attention to detail
  • Familiarity with Agile



Desired Skills

  • PMP preferred—can work toward certification


  • Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or university in Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems, Business or other related Discipline. Master’s degree preferred.
